Governing … and
government experience … are not new pages in Sharp
County Judge Larry Brown’s portfolio. At the time he took the oath of office on January 2, 2007, Judge Brown had already served eight years as a Justice of the Peace on the Sharp County Quorum Court. He brings to the desk twenty years of administrative experience garnered in the Cave City school system. Having worked through the system as principals in the elementary and high schools, he retired after ten years as Superintendent of the system. Brown is a six-year veteran of the U.S. Navy. Because of his school experience, he is aware of the need for educational opportunities for Sharp County’s youth. He is also familiar with one of the county’s perennial problems … the need for adequate maintenance of the roads school buses travel. Of the seventy-one terms of office for Sharp County Judge since Solomon Yeager took the oath of office in 1868, Judge Larry Brown is the twenty-ninth person to serve in that capacity.
