Ozarka College

In July 2002, Ash Flat voters passed a 3/8-cent sales tax for construction of a satellite facility of Melbourne's Ozarka Technical College. Construction is in progress at a site west of the city donated by Bob Watson and First National Banking Company of Ash Flat. In the 2003-2004 Ozarka fiscal year, the tax generated $218,281.00. Faculty and students project a March 2005 opening date.

The Ozarka Development Office subsequently instituted a $100,000 capital campaign to add a science lab to the original design, enabling the school to add an Associate of Arts degree to the curriculum. For more information visit the Ozarka Web Site, http://www.ozarka.edu/
